MYCS Welcomes Special Speakers Patti Wood and Meg Maly

MCKEESPORT, PA (September 1, 2009) – Mon Yough Community Services will be welcoming two national speakers in the months of September and October. On September 25, Patti Wood, MA, CSP, will be appearing at Greater Allegheny Penn State is McKeesport, Pa to present Body Honesty. Patti is a body language expert, and has been heralded as “The Babe Ruth of Body Language.”

Credited for bringing the topic to the national consciousness by The New York Times, Patti has been researching, writing and speaking on Body Language for more than 25 years. She consults with law enforcement and corporations on the topic. Time Magazine recognized her nonverbal communication course at FSU as one of the top college courses in the country. Media outlets around the world have interviewed her, including CNN, PBS, FOX News, BBC, History Channel, Discovery Channel, CBS, The Wall Street Journal, Reuters and many others.

On October 30, MYCS is welcoming Meg Maly, LSW, MSW, who will be presenting The Therapeutic Value of Humor: Laughter is the Best Medicine at Greater Allegheny Penn State in McKeesport. Meg is a medical social worker, volunteer director, educator, motivational speaker and a stand-up comic with over 25 years experience presenting educational programs on Therapeutic Humor, Interpersonal Relations, Communication, Management Skills, Customer Service, Health and Wellness, and Stress Management.

Meg will demonstrate how to change your life with techniques to make you smile. Laugh as you learn how humor and laughter can keep you healthier, reduce stress, and make you feel better every day. Find out why laughter is great medicine through easy, fun humor exercises to get your laughter response going.
