MCKEESPORT, PA (September 11, 2007) -- MYCS is kicking off the fall season at Angora Gardens on September 29th in White Oak Park. The annual fundraiser raises awareness for Angora Gardens, one of Mon Yough’s unique programs that offers support and recovery for clients in the Mon Valley area. Visitors will enjoy various activities in the historic farmhouse and around the estate grounds.
The community is welcome to see the facility, take tours of the house and gardens and take pictures with a number of Angora rabbits. Autumnfest activities include musical entertainment, face painting, snacks, gift baskets, clowns, various craft vendors, a Chinese auction and a flea market.
Angora Gardens is a place of recovery and growth for MYCS clients. They work in the gift shop, tend the garden and care for several English and French Angora rabbits that live in the estate’s barn. Angora Gardens is open to the public for house, garden and barn tours and for special events. The gift shop offers high-quality artwork created by consumers and volunteers. A variety of annuals, perennials and herbs grow in the greenhouse.
