Tips to help you get started with MYCS:

Who To Call
Call 412-675-8300 to schedule an appointment with the MYCS central intake service. An Intake Coordinator will assist you with evaluating your service needs and helping you to navigate the MYCS service system to your best advantage.

What To Bring
We are required by Allegheny County to complete a brief financial assessment before you see a mental health or drug & alcohol professional. It is important that you bring the following for your first visit:

  • Your insurance card (e.g. Medicare, Commercial, HMO, Medical assistance, etc)
  • Verification of income (e.g. income tax statements, pay stubs or employer statements) for you and your spouse if applicable
  • Verifications of expenses (e.g. actual state, federal & local taxes and other mandatory payroll deductions, real estate taxes paid on principle residence, medical expenses)
  • Verification of health insurance not paid by employer insurance company
  • Child support payments made directly to the facility in which your child is in residence

If there are any changes in your health insurance before your first appointment at Mon Yough Community Services, Inc., be sure to call an Intake Coordinator at (412) 675-8300 and inform us of this. Small changes in insurance can make a big difference in our ability to serve you.

A parent or legal guardian must accompany children and adolescents under the age of 18 on the first visit. If you are the legal guardian, you must bring proof of guardianship to the first appointment. If you are a foster parent, we must have a court order giving permission to seek mental health treatment.

If you are unable to keep your appointment, please call (412) 675-8300 to cancel and/or reschedule. When canceling an appointment, please call at least 24 hours in advance to allow us to fill this appointment with another person in need of services. Please note: if you miss two intake appointments, your next appointment will be scheduled with a crisis counselor before another intake appointment will be made for you.

How To Pay
As a Community Behavioral Health service provider, we are able to offer services at a cost based on an individual’s ability to pay. That means we need to review your income and expenses to calculate your financial liability, in order to calculate your cost based on your financial situation.

If you have insurance coverage with a company that contracts with MYCS, the insurance will cover most costs. The insurance company may set a co-payment. MYCS holds contracts with most major insurance companies. When you make your first call, an Intake Coordinator will help you to determine if your insurance covers MYCS services.

The Allegheny County Office of Behavioral Health helps to cover the cost of service for people who have no insurance coverage.
