The needs of people in any walk of life cannot be fully addressed by one single entity. Families, schools, faith-based organizations, government agencies, businesses and other community groups must all work together to assist people to grow in healthy ways and provide safe and supportive environments in which to thrive. To this end, MYCS supports the idea of community partnerships and participates in such partnerships at many levels. We vigorously support our local community through activities such as representation on local boards, appointed officials, fundraisers, Angel Ministries and community events. Additionally, we participate in collaborative efforts such as SHIP, the parks and recreation services, schools, hospitals and the Mon Valley Provider Assoc. We cast a wider net in Allegheny County through our connection with the Community of Allegheny Providers; in the Western Region as we participate with others through The Provider Alliance; in the State as a member of PA Community Provider Assoc. and nationally with memberships in MHA, USPRA, AAMR, to name a few.
Community connection and partnerships allow us to develop a more comprehensive approach to helping people create the lives they want to and to succeed at that they do.
